Frédéric-Théodore FABER (1782-1844) - Porcelaine de Bruxelles - Fabrique d'Ixelles I Exceptional tulip cup from the Waterloo service, 1824. The cup is decorated by the Royal Chapel, which after transformation became the church of St. Joseph in Waterloo. The soutasse is decorated by the landscapes of the farms of Hougoumont, the Belle alliance and the Haie Sainte, three places linked to the battle of Waterloo (diam 16,45 cm). Exceptional agate work of frieze of laurels and hazel trees on the gilding allegory of abundance that the victory guarantees. One finds the hand of Windish on the abutment of the handle with the face of muse. Mark Faber in Brussels in gold under the cup and monogram M.C.G and 1824 in the gilding of the drinker. Note: The Wellington Museum has an oval dish with the same decoration in its collection.
