YU Youren (1879-1964) Pair of calligraphies in semi-cursive. 66.8 x 18 cm (excluding scroll). These works come from Ms. Wang's mother, Mrs. Liu Hsiu-ching, who worked at the National Museum of Taiwan History in the 1960s and therefore had access to the artists who came to hold the painting and calligraphy exhibitions. The works in this sale were given to Mrs. Liu and her husband, Wang Bentao(Wang Ruoxia), at the same time by the famous painters Pu Ru(Pu Xin-yu) and Yu You-ren. "A long sword and a glass of wine，a lofty building and a heart ten thousand kilometers long." These two stanzas reflect a chivalrous spirit and a sense of vision in a high position。Yu Youren was the head of the Procuratorate, and these two lines express his chivalrous feelings. ..................................................................................................................
