Roland DELCOL (1942) - Lot 245
Roland DELCOL (1942) Sans paroles. Lithograph inking proof (Confrontation of a Boticelli Venus with a self-portrait of Roland Delcol as a clown). 35.5 x 54 cm. Signed. Aluminum frame. We thank Marie-France Delcol, the artist's daughter, for confirming the authenticity of this work. Note: Close to Louis Scutenaire and Félix Labisse, Roland Delcol moved surrealism towards what he calls infra-realism, which he also inscribes in postmodernism with its irony and recurrent recycling, which he confronts with his models unveiled in a nudity as intimate as it is natural. A Belgian master of the postmodern nude, Roland Delcol's work includes the lithographic album of the mythical Emanuelle.
