Set of two wooden and brass measuring tools (meters). Marked L.M. on the very large one. It features numerous Control letters, including the letter G., which was no longer used after 1912 due to the risk of confusion. The meter can therefore be dated between 1802 and 1912. Note: The introduction of the metric system led to the creation of a weights and measures control organization. Since 1802, weights and measures have been inspected annually, and are stamped with a capital letter that changes every year. In 1912, the letter G was dropped because of the risk of confusion with the letter C.
