Map based on Blaeu's map of the Kingdom of Naples, itself inspired by a map by Goevanni Antonio Magini. This is a slightly reduced version of Blaeu's map. At the time, Naples was part of the Spanish domination of the Habsburg Empire in Europe, as indicated by the Spanish coat of arms at top right. The map is flanked by panels depicting provincial coats of arms on either side and embellished by sailing ships, a compass rose and the title cartouche flanked by mermaids and incorporating the royal emblem. Folds at lower left. +/- 27.5 x 35.5 cm.
