German or Austrian-style crossbow, 20th century, large crossbow, 74cm steel bow with half-readable bull's head hallmark, several forges in Nuremberg, Suhl and Augsburg used zoomorphic hallmarks, including the bull's head, to sign crossbow bows and firearm barrels, but were also very well copied in the 20th century, as were the hallmarks, consonant-shaped carved walnut woodwork inlaid with brass and a bone lozenge, the nut is made of synthetic material (plastic - ivory), total length 97cm, average condition (missing and mechanism to be reviewed)..
