A RARE Chinese blue-and-white hexagonal narcissus bowl. It h - Lot 221
A RARE Chinese blue-and-white hexagonal narcissus bowl. It has a hexagonal shape and features delicate blue floral patterns on a white background. The body, decorated with prunus blossoms on cracked ice, is intricately designed with cut-out sections and vertical ridges, giving it an ornate and almost architectural appearance. The upper rim is slightly flared and bordered by a band of vertical blue stripes and small, stylized cutouts. The interior of the bowl depicts narcissus, and the rim is decorated with a floral or vine pattern in cobalt blue. Kangxi period, 18th century. D: 17.5 cm, H: 13.5 cm. Very good condition, two firing flaws. (UV-checked) PROVENANCE: Rob Michiels auction, Bruges, October 28, 2017, sold for 1,820 EUR. https://www.rm-auctions.com/en/asian-arts-october-2017/8302-a-Chinese-blue-and-white-hexagonal-tea-cup-basin-or-kensui-with-prunus-on-cracked-ice-kangxi.
