François AMISI Bangwile (Lusangu, 1935, lives and works in L - Lot 26
François AMISI Bangwile (Lusangu, 1935, lives and works in Lubumbashi, DRC) (Untitled) Les trois cases Oil on canvas. 60 x 28 cm. Signed and dated 67 lower right, framed. François Amisi is an academician and the originator of various pictorial styles. In the "flamme" style, the shapes of humans, animals and objects are slightly distorted by the glow generated by flames. In 1955-1956, he perfected the "bleed" style, in which shapes are modified by stained-glass effects. He then developed the "chopped", "cross" and "whirlwind" motifs. His colorful world brings to life scenes of everyday life in the Congo, rich in movement, charm and intensity, making tradition universal thanks to his unique, timeless style.
