Two Chinese porcelain famille rose "floral" dishes. This pla - Lot 48
Two Chinese porcelain famille rose "floral" dishes. This plate is a fine example of Chinese export porcelain, likely from the qing dynasty, Qianlong period (18th Century, created for the European market. The vibrant floral decoration, featuring large, detailed peonies and scrolling foliage, is painted in the famille rose or famille verte palette, which was highly sought after in europe. The symmetrical arrangement of flowers, the finely drawn border with an orange scroll-like pattern, and the use of bold red, green, blue, and gold accents suggest a european-influenced design while retaining traditional Chinese artistic elements. Plates like this were commonly produced in Jingdezhen and exported through canton (Guangzhou) to European consumers who admired their exquisite craftsmanship. Qian-long period. 18th Century. D : 25 cm.
