A tibatin gilt-bronze Buddhist figure of Maitreya bodhisattv - Lot 288
A tibatin gilt-bronze Buddhist figure of Maitreya bodhisattva and a VAJRAS. This is a small gilt-bronze Buddhist figure seated in a relaxed pose on a double-lotus pedestal. The deity sits with one leg folded and the other extended, creating a graceful, casual posture known as lalitasana. The figure wears elaborate jewelry, including a necklace, armlets, bracelets, and anklets, all rendered with fine detail. The serene face is framed by long, elegant ears, and the hair is styled in a high topknot that includes a small seated Buddha image at the front, indicating a bodhisattva identity. One hand is raised in a gesture of teaching or reassurance, while the other rests gracefully on the extended knee. The surface shows traces of age and patination, adding character to the golden finish. Add a bronze VAJRAS, L : 11 cm. 18th Century or late. H : 10 cm. Perfect condition.
